Rose Carifi (nee Perna) died unexpectedly on Thanksgiving morning, November 24, 2011 at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton Township. She was 95.
Born and raised in Newark, she had lived in Short Hills, NJ, Vero Beach, Florida and Lake Hopatcong, NJ before coming to Boonton.
A homemaker, Mrs. Carifi was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph, daughter, Romilda Clark, and sister, Ida Palmisano.
She is survived by her son Gabriel Carifi and his wife Betty of the Lake Intervale section of Parsippany; three sisters, Gloria Stefanelli, Ethel Baer, and Jean Biggs; two grandchildren, Sharon Carifi Maher and Kevin Carifi; and a great-grandson, Ryan Maher.
