Raymond Otto Degen died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover. He was 80. Born in Vienna, Austria, he immigrated to the United States at age 16 settling in Brooklyn, NY. He had lived in San Francisco. CA. before moving to Parsippany 44 years ago. Mr. Degen served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a warehouse manager with the Morris County Parks Commission for over 30 years before retiring 15 years ago. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helga E. (nee Bahr) and a sister, Vera Klueger. Survivors include his three sons, Brian Degen of Dallas, TX., Eric Degen and his wife Susan of Lake Hopatcong, and Wayne Degen and his wife Monica of Parsippany; a sister, Sidone Grayson of Jackson Heights, NY; and three grandchildren, Jessica Leigh, Fawn Stephanie and Jake William Degen. Relatives and firends are invited to attend graveside services on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2:00pm at the Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton.
