Maria D'Alessandro (nee Avallone), 89, passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 12, 2020 at The Chelsea at Montville.
Born in Calabritto, Italy, she immigrated to the United States in 1967, settling in Newark, NJ where she resided before coming to Montville, NJ in 1996.
Mrs. D'Alessandro had been a seamstress in the Newark area for over 25 years, retiring in 1992.
Preceded in death by her husband Mario D'Alessandro in 2000; and her brother, Raffaele Avallone; she is survived by her three children, Assunta Violante (Ciro) of Montville, Antonino D'Alessandro of Italy, and Lucia Sposato (Thomas) of Towaco; two grandchildren, Louis Violante (Michelle) and Diana Violante, and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas and Gianna.
In response to the Covid pandemic, the family has requested that the visitation on Friday be limited to family only. The Mass will be open to the public.
