Dr Jacobs was my psychiatrist in the 1980s. I credit him with helping me to avoid the kind of eating disorder that would lead to chronic incapacitation. Instead I’ve gone on to have a lovely personal and professional life. He was unfailingly warm and compassionate and confrontational at all the right times. I am sure that I am just one of countless people his life touched and changed for the better. I hope he knew that.

Ever a kind man and friendly neighbor, Dale would stop his frequent yardwork to chat over the fence and complement our frequent bouts of yardwork. We had a nearly full-time job "keeping up with the Jones", as Dale and Renee always keep such a beautiful yard and gardens. I could always tell when it was Sunday afternoon and they had returned from Montauk as I would hear Dale zipping around his yard on his mower - usually smiling. We would see Dale and Renee walking in Washington Valley or on the Loantica Park trails. Vibrant and vigorous. A man and neighbor that is missed.

Dale Jacobs helped me for several years through a very difficult time in my life thirty-five years ago. He was a gentle, thoughtful, kind guiding light when I desperately needed one. Twenty-four hears ago he and his wonderful wife, Renee, introduced via a blind date DiAnne and I to each other and love bloomed. Dale was my best man at our wedding on September 7, 1997, one year from the day of our fortuitous meeting. Over the years after we moved to North Caroling we have lost touch with Renee and Dale. I regret that but life moves on.
Simply stated Dale was a mensch. I know he will be missed by many, many people. My deepest condolences to Renee and the entire Jacobs family.
