Please share a memory of TINA to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dr. Tina Wan Pin Chang (nee Leung), a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister passed peacefully away Saturday, November 7, 2020 at RWJ St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. She was 46.
Born in Canton, China, Tina immigrated to the United States in 1980 settling in Queens, New York. Following her marriage in 1997, she moved to the Pine Brook section of Montville Township.
Dr. Chang earned her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from New York University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Utica College.
Tina was the Director of Physical Therapy at Union Hospital in Union until that campus closed. She subsequently worked with the Physical Therapy Department at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, until falling ill.
Tina was a longtime member of the New Apostolic Church in Parsippany.
Tina is our angel that graced the lives of everyone who knew her. Her beauty radiated from within. Her loving smile, laughter, and charismatic personality were infectious. Tina's heart was pure. She always put others before herself. Tina prioritized her family, supporting their every endeavor with gentle encouragement. Selflessness defined her character, shining through in how she cared and loved everyone around her - her family, parents, patients, friends, and the church congregation.
Tina never accepted defeat. Each day of the five and a half long years that she waged battle against cancer was a personal triumph. She fought with every breath against each setback. Even during her darkest days, Tina continued to devote herself to her family, always putting others before herself. Even when she was down, she lifted others up. Tina was a true guardian angel to all.
Tina is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Jefferson S. Chang; her two cherished sons, Matthew G. Chang and Peter S. Chang both of Pine Brook, NJ; her beloved parents, Dew Leung and Hui Yung Ng Leung of Queens, NY; her dear sister, Wanda Leung Lei of Long Island, NY, and a host of treasured friends and colleagues in the RWJ St. Barnabas Health Care System.
