Obituary of RALPH J. AVALLONE

Ralph J. Avallone, Montville, NJ, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 of natural causes. Ralph was born in New York City to Antoinette (Gelsomino) & Domenick Avallone. He was blessed to be one of seven children who grew up in West New York, NJ. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Vergona and Mary Hargaden, and brothers, Domenick and John Avallone. He is survived by his two younger siblings, sister Lucy Giarratano, of Rockaway, NJ, and brother, Anthony Avallone, of Naples, Florida Ralph was married to Maida (Mayer) Avallone who pre-deceased him in January 2018. They were married 70 years and shared a lifetime of charitable works by volunteering to Montville Republican Club, St. Pius X Church, and many local township organizations. Ralph was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years and was the Lector at St. Pius X Church for over 30 years. Ralph is survived by his son, Ralph Joseph, Jr. his wife Mary Ann, and daughter, Dolores, Four grandchildren; Melissa Nikolakopoulos, Nicole (Avallone) Cavallaro, Ralph Joseph Avallone, III, and Lauren Avallone; and 6 great-grandchildren; Alexander Nikolakopoulos, Carlee Avallone, Nicholas Cavallaro, Vincent Cavallaro, Rachelle Avallone, and Ella Nikolakopoulos to whom he was affectionately known as "Beepa". Due to concerns regarding the Covid 19 pandemic, all funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23rd at St. Pius X Church, 24 Changebridge Road, Montville, NJ . Visitation will be Monday morning, from 9:00 am until 10:45 am in the Church Narthex. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved Maida at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover.
