I first met Bill in 2016 at the Latin Mass at St. Anthony's, where I was invited by with Mark Stahlman. Bill was always near the front on the opposite side of the aisle to us in a tweed jacket that gave him a somewhat professorial look. I was new to the community there and trying to adjust to the somewhat closed and intimidating atmosphere, and during convivium Bill would often check in our the table with kind words and genuine interest. He was a real neighbor. I remember one of my first times there was shortly after a very close friend of mine lost his younger brother to the Ghost Ship warehouse fire in San Francisco. His brother was a friend of mine as well, and I was grieving. Outside the Church I was overwhelmed with tears, and comforted by Bill's instant insistence that he would be praying for my friend and for his family. He was one of the pillars of that community for me, and I will be praying for him and his family as well. Requiescant in pace.

Rosa, I was sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I have dear memories of our times together in Jersey City. I so looked forward during the many years I was in New Jersey to the convivium after Mass each week, spending time in conversation. Bill is missed.
