Condolences to the Curran family on the passing of their wonderful mother, Margaret Curran. Margaret's children, then teenagers, helped run Chan's Tea House, a local Chinese restaurant in Rockaway, NJ in the 70s and 80s, located up the street from their home.
Margaret and Joseph Curran raised such hard-working, well-mannered, respectful children. More than half of their children ended up working at the tea house at one time or another, keeping the Curran staffing going. It was an absolute joy for Mr. and Mrs. Joe to have this beautiful family help serve Cantonese cuisine to the local patrons of the area, that was for many years come.
May you rest in peace, Mrs. Curran.

Peggy was ten days older than I so I was free to date her younger sister — the protocol of the times was that the oldest daughter married first but also that the man was always older — she and I were good buddies, sharing the burdens of looking after younger siblings — despite a bazillion kids and a police officer husband she was always cheerful and always interested in the world around us — the success of her brood speaks volumes about her brilliance; I was so sorry to hear of her dementia, which also claimed the bright mind of my father.
The world was a better pace for her presence and a poorer one without — we shall miss her.
