Obituary of JANICE BATITTO

On August 9, 2021, Janice Batitto passed away peacefully at age 85, and of course, she went her way. After complications from a heart attack, she continued to fight and finally, surrounded by her loving family, she was able to rest, but not before she was serenaded with "Because of You," by her "Bun" to his "Bunny" of 68 years. Our Mom was the proud mother of five children, grandmother to ten, and great grandmother to a two-year old cutie Liam, and recently a beautiful "chunkalunk" named Cole. She was unique and special in every way: this was the essence of our mom. Raising five kids, our mother modeled both strength and character and taught us that we can accomplish anything. However, we know that our mother was not a typical mother nor grandmother, but that was what made her very special. She loved people and most especially her family. Mom loved nothing more than to laugh and make us laugh. She always had a twinkle in her eye and an unassuming disposition; without inhibition, she would come up with a one-liner that would get even the most serious person not only to laugh but also to, as she would say, "pee in your pants." While our family is devastated by her loss, we are choosing to honor her in a way that honors her spirit. We invite you to celebrate her life on Thursday August 19th from 5-8 pm at Stephen J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 N Beverwyck Rd, Lake Hiawatha, NJ 07034. Burial will be on Saturday August 21st at 10:00 am at The Gate of Heaven 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936. Repass will follow at La Cucina, 278 Diamond Spring Rd, Denville, NJ 07834. Mommy is survived by her sister Judy Mignone and her husband Dennis; her husband Robert Batitto of 68 years; her children: Joseph Batitto and his wife, Kathy; Gina Kohler and her husband Mark; Steven and his wife Michele; Laurie Bisconti and her husband Joe); and Barbara Batitto. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Anthony Batitto and his partner Rebel, Pearson Batitto, Justin Hoffman, Sofie Clark and her husband Bryan, Emily Kohler and her boyfriend Marquis, Stephen Theriault, Melissa Batitto, Ashley Batitto, Jordan Batitto, and Bobby Batitto and her great grandsons: Liam Hoffman and Cole Clark.
