Betty Jane Ellgren (nee Lauwe) 78, passed away Monday afternoon, December 27, 2021 at her home in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Hawthorne, NJ, Mrs. Ellgren had lived in Saddle Brook before coming to Lake Hiawatha in 1978.
She was an administrative assistant with Teva Pharmaceuticals in Caldwell before her retirement 20 years ago.
Mrs. Ellgren was a member of the Jersey Pioneers Camping Club. Her favorite past times included reading novels, completing puzzles, and camping with her club and family/friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, William Ellgren; two beloved children, William Ellgren Jr and his wife Gretchen Schild-Ellgren of Flemming Island, FL, and Bonnie Novotny and her husband John of Lake Hiawatha; three grandchildren, Eric and Melissa Novotny and Lillyanne Ellgren; two step-grandchildren, Nicholas and Brennan Schild; and her niece, Gail and family. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lenore Mattade and John Lauwe.
