Rigoberto Gonzales Montes passed away peacefully Friday evening, January 14, 2022 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 88.
Born and raised in Arequipa, Peru, he immigrated to the United States 34 years ago, settling in West Caldwell.
Mr. Gonzales Montes had worked as a diesel mechanic while living in Peru. Upon coming to American, he worked as a handyman with the Pio Costa Industrial Complex for many years, retiring 10 years ago.
Survivors include his three children, Henry Gonzales and his wife, Violeta of Paterson, Ana Saenz and her husband, Freddie of West Caldwell, and Jorge Gonzales and his wife, Lana of Budd Lake; a sister, Armandina Gonzales of Peru; eight grandchildren, and two-great grandchildren.
At the family's request services were private. A Memorial Mass will be planned in the future.
