Obituary of MINA D. ORLEANS

Mina D. Orleans (nee: Bezner) passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 26th 2022. She was 84. Mina was born in New York, NY, lived in Great Neck, Ny and was a longtime resident of Rockaway, NJ.
Mina attended Queens College for her undergrad. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education and earned her Masters of Science and Education from Montclair State University. Mina had a long and rewarding career as a Learning Disability Teacher Consultant. She worked for the Edison Public School System and then later the Montville Public School System for 29 years then later the Calais School in Hanover as Educational Consultant.
In her leisure, Mina was a proud lifetime member of Hadassah, and an active member of the Learning Disabilities Association of NJ. She was also a skilled knitter, crochet and cross stitch enthusiast. She loved to read, watch tennis, play mahjong, and was an excellent baker and cook.
Predeceased in death by her dear husband Albert H. Orleans in 2011. Mina is survived by her beloved children, her son David Orleans and wife Lydia of Ledgewood, NJ, and her daughter, Renée Orleans and husband, Stephen Gittelman of Rockville, MD. Mina was the loving grandmother to Tyler Orleans and Avery Gittelman. She is also survived by her sister G. Kaplan and brother, Steven Bezner.
Visitation will be held on Friday Jan 28th from 9:00 to 10:00 am with a service to begin at 9:30 am at S. J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Services, 60 N. Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ 07034. Interment to follow at Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mina's name to Hadassah.
