Obituary of ANGELA LEE FRISTACHI

Please share a memory of ANGELA to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lee was born November 6th, 1927 in Cerignola, Foggia, Italy. She sailed to the U.S. in April, 1939 in charge of her two younger sisters as their mother was declared too ill to travel. She grew up in The Bronx and Manhattan, then settled in Bensonhurst and Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. After meeting the boss' son, Anthony, at the coat & suit studio where she worked as a seamstress. They married October 16th, 1948, moving to Lake Hiawatha in December 1974. Not only could Lee sew clothing, but curtains and bedspreads as well. She crocheted innumerable baby blankets that went to a multitude of newborns as well as afghans and bedcovers. Under the direction of her father-in-law, she became an excellent cook. She loved to entertain friends and family who looked forward to her many specialties. No one went home without leftovers - if there were any! Above all, she was a loving and caring woman of faith who was always eager to help others. Lee is predeceased by her beloved Anthony and dear sister Carmela "Millie" Tesoro. She leaves her daughter, Diane of Lake Hiawatha, son Anthony and daughter-in-law Sheridan Barnes of Santa Fe, NM, step-granddaughter Dillon Barnes currently of Japan, her "baby" sister Esther Sebesto of Venice, Fla, brother Joseph Rizzi of N.J., multi-generations of nieces and nephews, most particularly Michele Sebesto and many caring friends most especially Jeanne and Jim Carroll. Special thanks to our home health aide and new friend, Judi Pellock. The family respectfully requests that all who attend the visitation and Funeral Mass wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Lee's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org).
