Obituary of WALTER J. WILKES

Walter J. Wilkes, known to all as "Joe," died Saturday morning, December 8, 2012 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 78. Born in Montclair and raised in Caldwell, he was a resident of the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany for over 50 years. Mr. Wikes was a produce manager with Acme Food Markets for 45 years, retiring years ago. He had also worked at Jack's Foodtown and IGA in Boonton and Caldwell in the same capacity. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Parsippany. Preceded in death by his brother Charles Wilkes, survivors include his wife of 53 years, Catherine Carol Wilkes (nee Connolly); a son, Joseph at home; a daughter, Patricia Sannazzaro and her husband Anthony of Roxbury; a sister, Ruth Liss; a granddaughter, Samantha Sannazzaro; and two nephews, John and Charles Liss.
