It has been 7 years since Sister Patricia Maureen passed, and her name came up recently on our Our Lady of Victories, JC site and I wanted to share a few things even now. I remember Sister as my 8th grade teacher, I sang in Choir under her direction at the Christmas Cantatas and at Sunday Mass. Can still sing much of the Mass in Latin! Sister had the most beautiful face and sparkling blue eyes. She was strict, for sure, and we called her "Yogi" as a nickname. Our Yogi played ball with the boys after lunch on the playground and also could hurl an eraser down the row to emphasize a Math point or wake up one who dared to doze a bit. She was full of life, had a great sense of humor and would challenge us day after day. I believe she loved teaching and challenging her students and we loved her too!
