Obituary of WILLIAM T. SELIKSON

William T. Selikson passed away Tuesday evening, March 19, 2013 at Care One at Morris in Parsippany following a brief illness. He was 89.
Born and rasied in Youngstown, Ohio, he moved to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany in the mid 1950's.
Mr. Selikson served in the United States Army Infantry during World War II. He participated in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, and The Rhineland and received a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge and three Bronze Stars for his heroic service.
He earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees form Ohio State University.
Mr. Selikson worked briefly as a teacher and principal in Ohio. After coming to New Jersey, he worked in the same capacity with Rockaway Township Schools and Dover Schools from which he retired as a principal in 1987 after 24 years of service.
He was a member and past comander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Disabled American Veterans, the NJEA, NEA, and the Morris County Retired Educators Association. He was also a member of the Dover Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce in Ohio.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth (nee Patrick) Selikson; four children, Raoul Patrick Selikson of Jersey City, Paul Louis Selikson of Lake Hopatcong, Rosalind Eyerman and her husband William of Parsippany, and Elizabeth C. Selikson-Nowicki and her husband David of Long Valley; a sister Rachel Klotz of California; and three grandchildren, Daniel Eyerman and Zachary and Amanda Nowicki. William was preceded in death by six siblings.
