God uses ordinary people to carry out His extraordinary plan. It was Sunday afternoon in October 2011 when I was in front of the Blessed Sacrament praying to God to give my life more meaning other than being a prof. nurse and a single Mom to two children. As I walk home I saw a friend Karl and he looked concern and he asked me if I was off Wednesday. I sad yes and why. He told me he has a friend whose Mom passed away and is looking for someone to be with her Dad who has early dementia while she goes back to work. He asked me if I can help his friend. Suddenly a spark in my mind said this is what God wants you to be to have a better meaning of life.
Without hesitation that evening I met John at his daughter's home. Debbie is a good daughter. She was not even over with her grieving of her Mom and there she was dealing with another challege. John must be a good father to have a caring daughter. ss they say good trees bear good fruits.
As John's mind was slowly deteriorating he was able to express how he missed his wife Angela. Sometimes he calls Angela his mother and Debbie his wife. But you can tell that he loved his family dearly. He tells me that when Debbie was born she was like a Christmas light always glittering, sparkling and warm and brings joy in their home. He told me how happy he is that his daughter is married to a hardworking cardiologist, a good husband and doting father to his grandchildren. John is a family man.
Last few months John was getting mixed up and yet he expressed the beauty of nature as we stroll in the neighborhood. He would smile when he sees airplanes in the sky. He said it reminds him of his fun life in the Air Force.
I have known John briefly but he had touched my life and my family. He acted what he kearned in the Binle. He taught me the meaning of giving. IT IS NOT IN HAVING OR RECEIVING BUT IT IS IN GIVING , there is bliss.
Thank you John! May you arrive safely Home and with open arms from our Father together with the angels and saints and your love one. Bye!

I was 16 years old when I found out that my much-loved Uncle Buzz was actually named John. Try as I might in later years, I was never able to comfortably call him Uncle John and so Uncle Buzz he will always be In my heart. I have so many wonderful memories of my uncle, as he was always a strong presence in my life. I used to love listening to him play the piano and as a little girl, he even allowed me to occasionally "accompany" him on his drums. He had a wicked sense of humor and as recently as a month ago, would tease me about an oil-slick my first car left on his driveway when I was 17. I don't think he ever quite forgave me for that. When my father passed away over 20 years ago, I asked Uncle Buzz if I could come to him if I ever need patriarchal advice. He didn't say a word, but with a tear In his eye, gave his affirmation in the form of a hug. I will miss you dear uncle, but I take solace in knowing you're in a better place and with my beautiful aunt once again. Your legacy of strength, wisdom, kindness and generosity live on in your wonderful daughter and granddaughters. Rest in peace.
Love, Susan
