I was saddened to learn of Cathy's passing and want to express my condolences to her family. Although I never met her, I had the privilege of hearing so many wonderful things about her, and also subbing for her various times on the organ at Montville. My heart goes out to her daughter....I will pray for her as time goes on!
Sincerely,
Alice Vander Plaat

To the family of Cathy Lin, and to my extended family at the Montville Reformed Church, sincere condolences on the loss of such a talented Musical Director.
I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to hear Cathy play the organ and piano so passionately in church. Especially this past Easter Sunday, when I joined in (from the pews) with the choir's rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus. Cathy's glorious music prompted fond memories of signing the same piece from Handel's Messiah in high school (go tenors!) and college Glee Club, but most of all it transported me to another Easter Sunday at MRC (2010) when Cathy played it and the choir and I sang the words "Forever, and Ever, Hallelujah! Hallelujah!" side-by-side with my father, Sunday School Superintendent Ernest Niles, for the last time before he passed later that summer.
Although my husband Edward and I lived abroad for several years, unable to attend MRC services weekly, we've always returned to enjoy Cathy's music and fellowship.
May the heavens now benefit from Cathy Lin's grace and musical gifts, and may God bless her and her daughter always.
Sincerely, Karen Oberhofer
