Obituary of MEI-IN CATHY LIN

Mei-In Cathy Lin passed away peacefully, early Wednesday morning, June 4, 2014 at her home in Denville surrounded by her family. She was 51. Born in Taipai, Taiwan, Cathy immigrated to the United States in 1977 settling in Seattle, WA. She had lived in New York before moving to Denville 9 years ago. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Music in 1986 and her Masters Degree in Music in 1989, both from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Cathy was a talented musician. During her tenure, she worked in music ministry with various churches, most recently the Parsippany Presbyterian Church and The Montville Reformed Church where she had served as Director of Music for the last five years. She was a member of the Montville Reformed Church, the Organist Guild, and the New Jersey Musical Educators Association. Cathy is survived by her beloved daughter, Krista Chen of Denville; her loving parents, Chen Chong Lin and Ya Shue Lin of Whippany; two dear brothers, Tom Lin and his wife Janie of Whippany, and Victor Lin and his wfie Lisa of Oak Park, CA.; and five nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations t the Montville Reformed Church, Church Lane, Montville, NJ 07045.
