Anna Karakos (nee Stavros) passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 12, 2015 at West Caldwell Care Center. She was 98. Born in West Orange, she was a longtime resident of Bloomfield and Belvidiere before moving to Montville six years ago. Mrs. Karakos was a seamstress and had worked in this capacity with various companies, most recently EJ Brooks in Newark retiring in 1980. She was also the co-owner of the Townhouse Restaurant in Montclair with her late husband John for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Karakos; a daughter, Stella Victory Karakos; a grandson, Gregory Karakos; and her siblings, Katherine Grafankis, Alexander Stavros, ChristineLepinski, and Christopher Stavros. Survivors include her three beloved sons, Christopher Karakos and his wife Joyce of Montville, Carl Karakos and his wife Nancy of Estero, FL, and Dennis Karakos and his wife Mary of Newton; six loving grandchildren, Jacqueline Keiser, Stephanie Brown, Diana Karakos, Ashly Karakos, Christina Karakos, and Nicolette Karakos; and a great grandson, Joey Keiser. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Veterans Foundation would be appreciated.
