Sister Eileen Reinhardt, 96, formerly Sister Charles Eileen, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died April 12, 2015 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ.
Sister Eileen was born in Ridgefield Park, N.J., the daughter of Charles and Ella (Bowe) Reinhardt. She entered the Sisters of Charity on March 25, 1935, and was a member for 80 years.
She graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, N.J. with a B.A. degree in Latin, from Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J. with a M.A. degree in English and from Villanova University, Villanova, PA, with a MLS degree in Library Science.
Sister Eileen was an educator in the State of New Jersey. She served as teacher at St. Paul School, Clifton; Academy of the Sacred Heart, Hoboken; St. Joseph H.S., Paterson; Holy Trinity H.S., Westfield; DePaul Catholic H.S., Wayne. She was principal in Bayley-Ellard H.S., Madison. She was a teacher, librarian and Media Specialist in Paramus Catholic H.S., Paramus; she became an administrative Assistant in St. Philip the Apostle School, Saddle Brook, and retired to Our Lady of the Rosary Convent, Paramus in 1998 and moved to Ascension Convent, New Milord in 2003. She then moved to Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station in 2009, where she resided until her death.
Sister Eileen was predeceased by her parents, sister, Mary and brothers, Rev. Charles Reinhardt, SJ, Edward and Albin. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity, her niece, Faith King, grandnephew Christopher King, a great grandniece and 2 great grandnephews.
