Louise M. Vollmayer (nee Weedfald) passed away Sunday morning, July 26, 2015 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 64.
Born August 26, 1950 in Teaneck, NJ, she was the daughter of Arthur Anderson Weedfald and Piera Biadi Weedfald. Louise is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, David Lee Vollmayer; her son Daniel and his wife Colleen of Long Island City, NY; her son Douglas and his wife Christina of New York, NY; and her brother Peter Weedfald of Glen Ridge, NJ.
As a child she enjoyed vacationing with her family in Atlantic City, NJ and was an accomplished pianist who once performed on stage at the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York City. Louise was an honors student at Bergenfield High School in Bergenfield, NJ, where she was the editor-in-chief of the school yearbook and wrote for the student newspaper. She earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry and education from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and went on to become a science teacher and a successful research chemist with Playtex Products and the American Cyanamid Company.
It was during her time at FDU that she met and fell in love with her future husband David Vollmayer. The couple married in 1974 at Church of the Ascension in New Milford. After living in Hackensack, NJ for four years, they settled in Montville, NJ where they have been residents for the last 37 years. It was here that they raised their two sons, Daniel and Douglas, who Louise cherished beyond all measure.
Louise was a longtime parishioner of St. Pius X Church. She served on the board of directors for both the Montville Youth Athletic League and the Montville Baseball and Softball Association. Louise ran the local 5th Base concession stand at the Montville Municipal Ball Fields for many years and was a substitute teacher at Montville High School and Robert R. Lazar Middle School
