My older sister Roberta (who doesn't do computers) tells me that I was the baby Lynelle played with during her college years in Lubbock -- unless she was "playing all over the piano" the latest WW2 era jukebox songs. Roberta was born in 1935; I, in 1943. My memories of Lynelle center around her trips from New York to visit Texas relatives--including my parents Ira and Mildred Hollingsworth in Lubbock. Mama was Lynelle's second double cousin. (Their parents were Vaughn sisters who married Evans brothers.) I always looked forward to her visits because Lynelle was so pretty and so much fun. Daddy and Lynelle would entertain us for hours, as he played fiddle tunes and she "seconded" on the piano. Sometimes when she came to visit, our family would travel to Uncle John and Aunt Lizzie's Chillicothe farm to visit with Lynelle and all the other cousins there. She always added spark and laughter to those family gatherings as well. I would love to have known her, adult-to-adult. I think we would have been great friends. My heart goes out to my third-double-cousins whom I never have met, as they grieve the loss of their precious mother. Hers was a life well lived. Lana (Hollingsworth) Wilkinson Tucson, AZ
