Santa Vagge (nee Cipriano) passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, January 20, 2016 at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York, New York following a brief illness. She was 86.
Born and raised in New York, NY, she had lived in Riverdale, NY, Boonton, NJ , Jackson Heights, NY, Montville Township, NJ, Monroe, NY, Elmhurst, NY, and Woodside, NY, known as the "Gypsy Caravan" by her family members.
She had attended the New School for Social Research of New York.
Mrs. Vagge was employed as the Director of Medial Records at St. Vincent's Hospital of Greenwich Village, NY for twenty five years before retiring twenty three years ago.
She was a former member of the Montville Township Seniors.
Mrs. Vagge was preceded in death by a son, Raymond S. Vagge; a daughter, Catherine Calderwood; a sister, Sarah (Rosaria) Tofano; and brother-in-law, Michael Tofano.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond F. Vagge; a daughter, Rose Vagge Tomitz of Pennsylvania; a son, Richard Vagge of New York; and three grandchildren, Peter, Michele, and Raymond.
