Sister Joan was the heart of St Thomas. She was a special teacher who loved all children. I am so thankful that she taught my two sons. They will never forget her and I know she was their favorite teacher. We lived across the street and became very close with her and all the nuns in the convent. She is now with her friends Sister Seton, Sister Irene and Sister Joseph. She is now in heaven with her beautiful voice signing his praise. She has touched so many people with her honesty and love. She will be missed. RIP. GINA PFEIFER

I remember walking my infant son (at the time) over to pick up his "big" sister at dismissal and Sr. Joan scooping him out of the carriage and holding him close. Both my children were her students. My daughter teaches Kindergarten and would always seek out Sr. Joan after Mass when she was in town visiting. Sister told anyone who was standing around at the time, "this is one of my students."
She made me laugh. Thanks, Sister. I'm sure you're "breaking up the place!" (in a good way!) The parish will really miss you.

Sister Joan was the heart and soul of St. Thomas the Apostle School. The children she taught in kindergarten never forgot her and loved her always. I am thankful she taught my children, they were touched by an Angel. Rest in peace, Sister Joan!

Sr. Joan truly loved children; it was a genuine love, and each child felt this love. I always admired how she also loved babies and would hold them in her arms. The fondest memory I have of Sr. Joan was when she took my two week old son in her arms after Sunday mass. In years to come, she would become both my sons' kindergarten teacher. When she greeted her students before class and at dismissal, Sr. Joan would call them her "little angels." Now, we all have an angel watching over us. Rest in God's Peace, Sr. Joan.

Sister Joan will be so greatly missed! She was a truly loving, approachable, godly person. From my (and my family's earliest memories) her tenderness put all at ease and transcended geometrically throughout her teaching career. She was a true asset to humanity and of course St. Thomas. So very grateful to have known her!

Sister Joan and I have been friends for a long time. She was wonderful friend and mentor. I always went to the kindergarden class to see her. She was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back. I loved her very much and I always went to the convent to see her and she always made me laugh, she had a good sense of humor. I know Sister Clare and Sister MaryJane will miss her alot. Rest in Peace dear Sister Joan we will pray for you always. Love You. Lillian Donatiello
