Sr. Joseph was my biology teacher at East Orange Catholic High. She was also a wonderful inspiration and friend. My Dad and I helped build a bird feeder for the back of the school for sister. I loved helping out in the lab after school and Sr. Joseph helped me make a cricket "house" out of an older wooden box her father had made for her.
In later years she was one of the people who helped start the EOCH Alumnae Association. She called me and several other former students to help in the initial stages. We became re-acquainted then and when I could I stopped in to see her at St. Peters, the mother house or villa. I was able to attend her wake, but couldn't stay for the mass. Sr. Joseph will always be remembered. She was a beautiful lady.

Sister Joseph was Joyful. 1954 was the start of our friendship at Holy Trinity High School, Hackensack, N.J.
Basketball behind the School was her special for treat for us, as player, not as coach.
Met her again outside of New Brunswick pushing a Grocery Cart in RUNYONS in Somerset. That was about 1969.
She started teaching Geology just before retirement from St Pete's HS. She wanted to go up to Franklin, NJ to get Phosphorescent rocks from the Mine on Saturday. Off we went in my car up north on US 206. George Maude of Somerset, a retiree, who would later make a Display Box with Ultra Ray Light for Sister Joe's Geology Class at St. Pete's HS, came along.
