Sister Agnes Vincent Rueshoff, 85, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Monday, December 19, 2016 at Saint Vincent's Healthcare and Rehab Center, Cedar Grove, N.J.
Sister Agnes Vincent was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Gerhart J. and Margaret Catherine (Pfleger) Rueshoff. She entered the Sisters of Charity on June 24, 1949 and was a member for 67 years.
Sister Agnes Vincent graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, N.J. with a B.A. in French; from the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio with a M.A. degree in Philosophy and from the American University, Washington, DC with a PH.D degree in Philosophy. Sister Agnes Vincent was an educator in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at All Saints School and at the Academy of Saint Aloysius, Jersey City. She was an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station. A gardener known for her many tours and lectures in the local area, Sister Agnes Vincent oversaw the care of the Shakespeare Garden with volunteers (Will's Belles) from the College and the community. She moved to Saint Vincent Nursing Home in 2016 where she resided until her death.
Predeceased by her parents, as well as her sister, Elizabeth Lovuolo, she is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her sisters, Mary Rueshoff and Anne McQuillin; her brothers, John Rueshoff and Richard Rueshoff and many nieces, nephews, as well as, grandnieces and grandnephews.
