I was fortunate to be at the memorial service for Pat. For two tearful hours, I heard some of the stories of lives he changed. I was struck again by how much the world has lost with his passing.
A couple of memories stand out in my mind. One was of the only time I can recall being angry with him. It was after he cut down about a dozen trees in his back yard, to make a big open space for the many gatherings that he and Gay hosted. Being something of a tree-hugger myself, I had some catching up to do, with Pat's wanting his outdoor spaces to be as BIG as his indoor spaces. Another memory is of the many months, after my husband passed away, that he and gay insisted on my having a meal with them, at least once a week.
The main take-away from the day, was the sense of joy in having known Pat, outweighs the pain of losing him. How fortunate were we!

Heartbreaking to hear just tonight of the passing of my lifelong friend. We had just got all the "guys" together for the first time in a long time. If anyone was ready for God's calling it was you Patrick. God probably needed repairs on HIS mansion. It hurts to have lost you and know that I loved you my dear wonderful friend. Sorry Gaye and my heart and love goes out to patricks family. I truly loved the man and he was one in a million.

Pat epitomized a Godly man who lived with purpose, wisdom, and intelligence. I saw him consistently offer a helping hand to one and all with sacrifice of his time and body, knowing what the will of God was for him.
Pat was challenged, like no other person I've known. Often times, now and in the past, I've thought how difficult it must be to sleep in a recliner each and every night because he couldn't sleep in a bed after his fall. From my perspective Pat's actions, before, during and after his fall, have been a testimony to Jesus like no other testimony he shared through prayer with many waiters, waitresses and healthcare providers.
I cherish the fun vacations I enjoyed with Gay and Pat when Pat wasn't physically challenged. I will miss him but believe Gay and I will continue breaking bread from time to time as we did with Pat.
Love,
Kirsten

Dearest Gay,
We can barely imagine you without Pat. Kathryn, Bob and I have always prayed for both of you. Galatians 6:9 is part of your amazing legacy. "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
Pat had unabashedly firm resolve and always strove for the superlative. He lived Philippians 3:14 for all of us to see. "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Our thoughts of Pat are of how he cited scripture consistently, laughed out-loud joyously, sang hymns with abandon, shared everything generously and loved the Lord, You and others passionately. We miss him very much. With all our love as always,
The Radcliffe Family xoxoxo

I consider Pat and Gay part of my family, as we worshipped together for years. Pat was a wonderful man of God, funny, caring, and very talented in any type of building project. He had a big heart and gave great hugs. I will miss him greatly, but I am glad he is with Jesus now, and we will see him again, and for eternity. God bless you, Gay, much love and care to you, my dear sister.
Love,

Pat was a real doer of the word. He touched many lives with his generous and loving spirit and this was true to our family too, as he gave of his time and talents in helping us and our children. How happy he must be now in the arms of the Lord! Gay, may our Lord's grace hold you during this time and give you comfort. Love, Steve and Nancy Boepple

Pat was a godly man and a rare gem. He always had a smile on his face. He was always willing to help. I remember the first time Pat and Gay came for dinner at my house. A few days later Pat approached me and had some great ideas how to improve my dining room and kitchen area. He offered to do the work at cost and I'm still enjoying the improvement. Thank you Pat for being you. May you rest in peace.
Love and prayers,
Barbara

Yes, instantly I thought of his singing. Well, he can sing along up in heaven for more people to hear his distinct way to sing! Sorry for your loss.

Our family often reflects on how Pat raised his voice in song to praise God. I can't number the times one of our daughters, when hearing a hymn, said "This one reminds me of Pat Brandeal". (I guess when you spend a few years in the row in front of him in church, the voice remains clear in your mind)
What a kind and godly man who was loved by so many. He didn't just tell of his love for God, he demonstrated it in the way he passionately served, helped and counselled. He will surely be missed by many....until we meet again.
Gay, our thoughts and prayers of comfort go out to you.

Pat was the most caring and welcoming person. I will miss our chats about the Lord. He was always doing for others, even when he wasn't feeling well. He treated me as if I was his own daughter, as did Gay. I will hold the fond memories and wish peace to all that knew and loved him. Rest well and I will see you again...I love you.

Bill and I certainly remember our friendship with Pat and are so sorry to you, Gay, for your loss and yet we don't "sorrow as others sorrow," but give thanks to God that He belong to our Lord and was ready to meet Him. What a wonderful thing that is and glorious hope as Christians that we have, to "be forever with the Lord." May the God of all comfort, be your portion during these days. Lovingly, Bill and Shirley (Romans 15:13)

Such a humble, giving, godly man...who was welcoming, generous, and genuinely loved people. I remember him & Gay praying for me and encouraging me...worshipping together...fellowshipping... So easy to talk to, as well. Dear Gay, we pray you feel God's comfort, and we extend our love and deep sympathy to you, as well as Pat's extended family. Love, Brent & Lola Eudy

He spent his life in the service and support of others with his time and talents. He was a radical giver who blessed many and left me an example to admire and follow. By God's grace he made a difference and finished well!
