Dear Mrs. Lin and family:
I write to express our deepest condolence over the loss of your beloved one, professor Chenchong Lin, whom we hold the highest regards.
This morning is a very sad time in the collective memory of the class of Chemical Engineering, National Taiwan University (graduated in 1972) . Lots of us learned the passing of professor Lin through class e-mail for the first time.
I looked up the Face Book page posted by Dr. Tom Lin, the eldest son, and saw the last few precious photos of professor Lin spending time with family and friends. His expression is one of kindness, peacefulness, wisdom, and energy. It speaks eloquently about the essence of his life.
Professor Lin is truly a mentor to me in his teaching, his recommendation for my graduate study in the U.S., and for my participation in Greater New York Region Overseas Taiwanese Pen Club.
I will forever treasure the memory of the time we, and other New Jersey classmates, spent with professor and Mrs. Lin during his very productive retirement years in New Jersey. It is a great honor and pleasure to know Mrs. Lin and her exemplifying role as a wife, a mother, and an accomplished music professor.
May God's blessing ease your sorrow at this time of great loss.
With warm thoughts and prayers,
Sue Lin (student of professor Lin)
