Obituary of MAFALDA ALOI

Mafalda Jean Aloi (Figorito) passed away on April 23, 2020. Jean was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late Eda and Pasquale Figorito. She was a longtime resident of Garfield New Jersey, and she worked as the head teller at New Jersey Bank & Trust in Passaic for many years preceding her retirement. Jean loved her family above all else. She was a wonderful cook and entertainer who loved to laugh with her beloved sisters. She looked forward to her trips to Atlantic City and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Aloi in 1991; four siblings, Rose Baccarella and her husband Joseph of Toms River NJ, John Figorito and his wife Jean of Forked River NJ, Eda Vogl and her husband Franzl of Mahopac NY, and Louis Figorito of Elmwood Park, NJ. She is survived by her cherished children Joseph Aloi and his wife Jeanne of Trumbull CT and Emelia Kovatch and her husband Michael of Clifton NJ, her five grandchildren: Danielle Spano (Andrew), Michelle David (Brian), Kristin Gallagher (Keith), Joseph and Jessica Aloi. She was also blessed with three great grandchildren, Kayla and Katerina Gallagher and Joseph Spano. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory can make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) . IN THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC HEALTH, FUNERAL SERVICES SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2020 AND ENTOMBMENT AT OCEAN COUNTY MEMORIAL PARK, TOMS RIVER WILL BE PRIVATE FOR FAMILY MEMBERS ONLY.
