I have been fortunate to have a successful and satisfying career as an artist and art professor. As I look back on the teachers that helped me to achieve my dream, Sr. Pat was one of the first to guide and direct me. She and Miss Randall helped me put together a portfolio for admission to Montclair State's Art Department. I majored in Art Education, taught some public school then earned my MFA and have been a college professor for over 40 years. I know she inspired me to be creative and to teach. A true role model! I only wish I could have old her that in person.
My sincere sympathy to her family and the Sisters of Charity.

Sr. Pat was a dear friend of mine and my advisor for an art calligraphy project in which I created a "Book of Hours" during my time at the College of St. Elizabeth. She was such a wonderful person to work with and I enjoyed our friendship. While we did not see each other a lot after I graduated from St. E's in 1984, we always were in touch at Christmas. In fact, I always put on my tree one or more of her calligraphy Christmas cards with fond memories of our friendship. Here is a photo from years ago - estimated date of around 2001 in which we had lunch with Sr. Pat at a Florham Park, NJ Bennigan's. In the photo from the left are myself - Eileen Donnelly Troise, Sr. Pat holding Ari - my friend Nancy Mercadante's daughter, Ruth (Sr. Pat's very dear friend, who was the St. E's Registrar when Nancy and I attended St. E's) and Nancy Platner Mercandante. May she rest in peace...we will all miss her, Eileen and family

Sr. Pat was a treasure to us. We taught with her at East Orange Catholic High School. She fashioned our wedding invitation which still hangs on our bedroom wall here in our New Hampshire home. We loved to visit with her at the Villa when visiting New Jersey. We know that we have a saint in heaven who will intercede for us that we might fulfill the words on our wedding invitation: "We love because God first loved us."

Sister Pat was my advisor at the Weekend College who became a dear friend and mentor. She visited me when my daughter was born over Thanksgiving break in 1994, and she encouraged me greatly in my decisions. We had a lovely visit last year, and I am so grateful for her faith and friendship. May she rest in God's eternal peace and glory. Until we meet again....Michele McCue Shaffer, CSE 1995

My high school years at the Academy of the Sacred Heart were greatly enriched by the teachings and the guidance of Sister Pat. She made learning fun and was always there to lend a hand, make great suggestions while still helping us to learn. I feel blessed to have kept in touch with Sister Pat for all these years, and our last visit happened the day before our 50th reunion. My dear high school friends and I spent a wonderful afternoon with her laughing, reminiscing, and telling one funny story after another. Her eyes sparkled as she joined in the fun. Sister Pat, thank you for being such a great role model and for your encouragement. I will cherish all your notes and cards and your beautiful artwork. Heaven has a new Angel looking down on all of us ASH girls. You were the best. Rest in peace dear friend.
My condolences to your family and especially to your dear friend Ruth who always kept us informed. That was greatly appreciated.

I was saddened to learn of Sister Pat's passing yesterday. Her bright smile made the sun shine on a cloudy day. I last saw Sr. Pat on her 90th birthday with my friend Eileen Troise where we had a little surprise celebration for her special day. It was wonderful to see Sr. Pat and Ruth. I have added a picture from that day to her photo gallery. My condolences to her family and Ruth. Nancy Mercadante '84
