Obituary of GUADALUPE R. TORRES

Mrs. Guadalupe (nee Rodriguez) Torres, known as "Lupe", died Saturday morning, April 9, 2005 at her daughter Rachel Chowaniec's home in Parsippany. She had recently celebrated her 101st birthday.
Born in Sharpsburg, Texas, she had been a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1963. She came to Parsippany in 1999.
A homemaker, Mrs. Torres was also an avid gardner. She was a longtime member and past president of the Albuquerque Garden Club and had been active with the Parent Teacher Association in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a member of Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Cedar Knolls.
Her loving husband Joe C. Torres died in 1998.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Chowaniec of Parsippany, two grandsons, Anthony Joseph (Tony) and Wayne; and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Chloe.
Visitation and cremation were private for members of the family. A Memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Friday evening, April 15, 7:30pm at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Cedar Knolls.
