Dear Kay and family, I was so sad not to be able to attend the memorial for Larry, but I want to extend to you my deepest sympathy at his passing. He was a wonderful colleague and co-worker and my memories of him will always be of the funny, kind and sincere person he was to be around. He helped me so much when my mother was quite ill with cardiac problems by explaning the procedures and recommending physicians - he was truly an amazing individual. With my deepest sympathy and prayers to you and your children, Susan Packie

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.....
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
I worked close to Larry at Berlex for 3 years and did not have the opportunity to meet his family but I surely enjoyed always his company. I wanted to express my sincere condolences and to tell you that the Mercies of God are new for you every morning.

I met Larry on 19th May 1981. We joined Parke Davis on the same day - it was my birthday and one of the best birthday presents I ever had. He was larger than life, brilliantly witty, awesome in his quick intellect and yet so human. He was a respected colleague and Kay, I have such fantastic memories of you and Larry and the family offering unconditional hospitality, warmth, humour and huge support to me and my family. Sadly recently geography and other circumstances have conspired to keep us apart but be assured he will still leave a massive void. Kay, Elaine, Iain, Andrew and Lindsay our hearts go out to you. Flic, Joey, Michael and Elizabeth (Flic's Mum).

Kay, Iain, Elaine, Andrew and Lindsay,
Our friendship with all of you is one we cherish.
It is so hard to imagine our world without Larry and his sense of fun and humour. We had many great times with Larry and Kay, but we'll never forget one of our happiest moments with him when we were present to witness his hole in one at the Homestead golf course. It was a wonderful day.
Our thoughts are with you, to help you through this difficult time and we hope to see you soon. We will all miss him so very much.
Love, Otto and Lois

Larry and I were friends for so long that I can't even remember when we first met; Pfizer in the cefoperazone days I reckon. What a wonderful man; he has left the world a much better place than he found it and I, for one, will reap the benefits of our friendship for years to come. His children can rest knowing that their father was loved by everone who he touched and everyone he touched benefited as well. A wonderful caring physician, a patient teacher, a reliable and a most thoughtful friend and neighbor and a most esteemed colleague. The world cries at this loss.

So sorry to hear of your loss and our thoughts are with you at this time.
Have a lot of memories of Larry but one that sticks out is when we visited in Jul 06 and you were awaiting a new suite to be delivered. Once it arrived Larry claimed this massive single seat. It was so big his feat could not touch the ground. Larry took time out from his work which we really appreciated as Holidays are a bit of a premium in the States. If he had not done this then the holiday would not have been as good as it was.
Love

How well we remember Larry for his great hospitality during our visits to his home. The loan of his car during our stay in Michigan. Driving around Park City in his open top Volvo. The great social occasions with his family, with Kays lovely cooking.
Rick Warren, an American Pastor tells us that our time on earth is very short, before moving on to a greater life, where pain and suffering will be no more and we will live in perfect peace. We trust that Larry is now enjoying that greater life.
Our love goes out to you Kay and the children

Larry was my good friend. Although we only saw each other once or twice a year after we both moved to the USA, our close friendship endured. We got up to all kinds of mischief as young bachelors living next to each other in Scotland and I was honored and proud to have been his 'best man' at his wedding. Our wives and families became intertwined and we have many happy memories of our times together as families especially thanksgiving in Utah. Larry was sharp-witted, intelligent and friendly and was loved by everyone - We miss him immensely. Our hearts and thoughts are with you Kay, Iain, Elaine, Andrew and Lindsey and we will get together soon.
