Joe Polyak NJIT worked with Augie 15 years posted a condolence

It was with great sorrow and with a heavy heart that I received the news of my friend Augies final journey. My condolences to the immediate family and the entire extended family. A great loss is felt by all.
Upon receiving the news, my thoughts immediately flashed back to our first meeting at NJIT where Augie was DP manager and I was the on site representative for Sperry/UNISYS computer systems. This was the beginning of a very close working felationship lasting 15 years, until our subsequent retirements a few years ago. Our backgrounds nested in the computer industry, although different (Augie in DP Management and me in computer repair) complimented each of the others experience giving both of us the ability to teach the other and to advise the other when needed or when asked for. Augie was always there, did not need to be asked and with one of his greatest gifts.......a "positive attitude" and that unforgettable smile, offering his unselfish support and help. Thank you Augie for that! I will never forget.
If I could have the opportunity to say something to Augie today it would be....
Thanks for your unselfish support!
I will never forget!
Thanks for your imparted advise and wisdom!
I learned much from you!
Most of all, thank you for your friendship, your unforgettable smile, your sense of humor and for just being "Augie......my friend!"
I will not say "Good Bye"
rather I will say
" So Long till we meet again"
AUF WEIDERSEHN! CHOW!
ARREVADERCI!

Augie was my colleauge. But more importantly, my friend. He would always look out for my best interests and had the most caring outlook for his peers and those he supervised.
How much he loved his wife, Lee and children was so evident in his words.
To our friends the D'Onofrio Family
with sympathy and love,
Rosalie, Doug and Christopher Hirsch
"A Message From Heaven"
By Allison Chambers Coxsey
"I am not so far from you
Just a little way beyond
Past the cares and past the pain
Far past my earthly bonds
When you feel you miss me most
As years go drifting by
Each memory will prove to you
That our love will never die.
For memories are but a touch
From the Father's gentle hand
To heal your pain and mend your hearts
To help you understand
That while I left you far too soon
I did not leave alone
For the Father sent His angels
To gently take me home.
Take comfort when you think of me
Keep my love alive in your heart
And with the warmth of each memory
We will never be apart."

Please accept my sincerest sympathies
and condolences on Augie's passing. I worked with him for at least 8 years. He was a wonderful man in so many ways and was always ready with a good joke or a smile when you needed it the most.
He is sorely missed at NJIT.
