Obituary of CATHERINE H. DOROSHENKO

Please share a memory of CATHERINE to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Catherine Helen (nee Beresky) Doroshenko died suddenly, Sunday morning, December 17, 2006 at her home in Parsippany. She was 47. Born and raised in Somerville, she had lived in Elmwood Park before moving to Parsippany in 1992. Mrs. Doroshenko earned her Bachelors Degree in computer science and business from Ryder College in 1981. She had worked as an accountant with the BASF Company in Mount Olive for over 10 years before becoming ill. Previously, she worked in the same capacity for Drake Bakeries in Wayne. Cathy gave hope to many. She was diagnosed with lung cancer 12 weeks after becoming pregnant several years ago. Against the advice of some of her doctors, she carried her daughter, Victoria Faith to full term. She is now a healthy 3 1/2 year old. Cathy's miraculous story was featured on the television program "Its A Miracle" and in the pages of the Daily Record. She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth (nee Antos) Beresky in 2003. In addition to her cherished daughter Victoria Faith, she is survived by her husband, Peter Doroshenko; her father and step-mother, Michael & Ranelle Beresky of Somerville; a sister, Marybeth Doyle and her husband Richard of Pequannock; an aunt, Sophie Fancher of New York; and a niece, Caitlin Doyle of Pequannock.
