I am very sad to hear that Dave has passed away. Though I last saw him when we were 13, I always have fond memories of him from Troy Hills School. A smart, funny, kind kid - couldn't ask for more. My thoughts go out to the family.

We did not see you often, but have very found memories of our visit to New York when you and Lori came up to see us during our stay with Ellie.
It seems that fate has cruelly foreshortened a life that was just beginning to blossom.

The last time I saw Dave was last summer when I returned to NJ to attend a friend of ours wedding. To see Dave there was a pleasent surprise. Our chats that day filled in the blanks over the past 14 years. I was really glad to see where he had taken himself. A Phd in chemistry is something that I cannot even fathom. I thought often about our past, seeing Dave around town, even before we met, in his heavy metal T-shirts, in high school, campaigning (and winning!) the class presidency based on his intelligence and charisma and in spite of his hair! It was a small but inspiring act for alot of us then. I'm sorry that we weren't in better touch over the years. Rest in peace Dave. You will be missed by many of us. My deepest sympathy to your family and friends.

David worked for his PhD degree in my research group, and completed all but his oral defense. He was a talented scientist and devoted mentor to other students, and made several important contributions in bioorganic chemistry. We co-published four papers. David was a delightful colleague, full of ideas and enthusiasm, and he'll be remembered this way by his co-workers, and all the undergraduates he taught. David was also one of my favorite students - his is a sad loss.

Its been quite a long time since I have Dave, but the memories I have of him are definitely great ones. He had such a great sense of humor and had such a big heart.
