To John, Kevin, Mr. Schmid, and family,
My deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved mother and wife. Reading of her career and life of service to others, I am sure that you will be comforted in the coming days and weeks by many of your own memories and many stories from those who visit with you.
Although I did not know her well, I am sure she was a great person. This is something you can tell about a person when you look at the children she raised. My man John--my first football camp roommate at UC--is a fine man, as his little brother Kevin.
Peace and solace to all,
Bill Connolly

Gene,
Please accept our deepest sympathies on the loss of Marie. When we were young I always remember Marie being the one to talk sense into us if we were going to do something crazy. She was such an uplifting person with her ready smile and true interest in others. There was never a minute of doubt about her devotion to you and the children. I am sorry we are so far away and unable to be present at this time. Please know that Marie and all of you will be in our prayers. She will be greatly missed by I am so happy to have so many great memories of her and our childhood. Take care of yourself and your children and stay close to the Lord for Marie is with Him. Gene, Ted and all the Schmid and McDonough families we are saddened by losing Marie much too soon. I remember our times at the shore, visiting and times spent together as children as well as more recent times. Marie was always very thoughtful about keeping in touch with my mother (Aunt Catherine) who was always cheered by Marie's visits which were even better when Noreen and Katie came along. When I think of Marie my first image is of a smiling laughing Marie. Rita Anne
