I have participated in all of the Rainbow Lakes Memorial Day ceremonies that Bill organized and later those that were organized by Charlie Engfer. As a Parsippany Township Councilman; as a fellow veteran active in the VFW and American Legion, and as a friend, I was in constant contact with Bill. He became my role model.
When I became moderator for the Township's Memorial Day and Veteran's Day Ceremony's, Bill shared with me his "A Soldier Died Today" poem. I have been reading that poem at every ceremony since.
In the future, that poem will have new meaning to me. Rest in Peace my friend.
Michael J. dePierro
Parsippany Township Council President.
