Obituary of JEAN M. GRABINSKY

Please share a memory of JEAN to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jean M. Grabinsky (nee Zaleske) passed away Thursday Morning, August 19, 2021 at her home in Mountainside, two days after her 90th birthday. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Mrs. Grabinsky was raised in Union before moving to Mountainside in 1960. She loved to garden, and she landscaped the grounds of her home there with tremendous care and intent. Mrs. Grabinsky volunteered her time and talents throughout her entire life, crocheting hats and scarves for the Seamen's Institute, St. Joseph's in Elizabeth, and any friends or family members who would have them. She spent her time driving friends to doctor's appointments and grocery shopping for them. She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Summit, NJ, and loved to volunteer there as well. Mrs. Grabinsky was an avid reader and tremendous supporter of the local library. Preceded in death by her husband, William Grabinsky in 1994, she is survived by her daughter, Gayle Cristino (Kevin), her son, Glenn Grabinsky (Virginia), four grandchildren (Jeremie, Shay, Dylan, Rebecca) and one great-granddaughter (Everly). A celebration of Jean's life will be held on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at 11 AM, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Summit, NJ. She will be laid to rest in the church's memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Salvation Army, and Mountainside Public Library would be most appreciated.
