Obituary of FRANCES M. TUITE
Please share a memory of FRANCES to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frances Tuite, affectionately known as Fran or 'Mrs. Tuite', or mom-mom, went home to God on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Fran is someone who certainly celebrated a life well lived. She was a most dedicated daughter of God in selflessly serving her family and friends.
Fran was a dedicated health care professional for well over forty years, serving much of that as the Chief Nursing Officer at Mountainside Hospital, Montclair. In these roles, she was always looking to provide excellent care while encouraging her staff to be the best in helping others.
Upon her retirement from healthcare, Fran embarked upon a new career in the Development Office at Morris Catholic High School, Denville. She so enjoyed planning and coordinating the events that helped raise funds for the school, ultimately leading to the successful education of many young people, including her two grandsons.
Fran was a woman of deep faith with a passionate commitment to her faith community of Saint Peter the Apostle Church, Parsippany, for nearly forty-five years. Although curtailed by the pandemic, she still attended daily mass via livestream. In many ways a pioneer, Fran was one of the first female Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers to serve in the Church. She also served as a faithful member of many parish and school committees, along with teaching CCD to many young, faithful enthusiasts.
Fran was an avid sports fan, enjoying March Madness, Tom Brady and the New York Mets.
What's most meaningful was her role as mother, wife, and grandmother. She was curious about all that were going on in her family's lives. Fran was the most generous and selfless person in serving her family. Fran is predeceased by her parents, Martha and Edward; her husband, Edward; her son, James, and her daughter, Eileen. She is remembered by her son, Edward (Connie); daughters Peggy Sakas (John); Sr. Kathleen, O.P., and Maureen McCollum (Tom); and grandchildren David O'Loughlin, Andrew O' Loughlin, and Elizabeth McCollum.
Well done good and faithful servant. It's time to enjoy peace in fullness of life in God's presence. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for memorial gifts to St. Catherine's Health Care Facility, c/o The Sisters of Saint Dominc, 7 Ryerson Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006.
