Obituary of Christopher James Stewart

Christopher James Stewart, 34, of Boonton, passed away on April 5, 2022 after a short illness. As a lifelong resident of Boonton, Chris had a strong passion for the town. He enjoyed volunteering his time at the Boonton Historical Society. Chris worked at Boonton Auto Parts for 10 years. He was very fond of his co-workers and enjoyed his career with the company. He loved spending time with his family and friends, going on nature hikes, going to the shore, and had a deep love for music. He was an avid gardener. His friends would refer to him as their "garden planting, hiking buddy." Chris was an amazing cook and always made sure he had enough food to feed an army, even if he was only making a dinner for 4 people. He had a heart so big that he welcomed anyone who needed a place to go for a holiday or a hot meal. You were always invited to "Good 'Ole 710" where you would be well taken care of in the company of Chris. He will be greatly missed by his family and all of his friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Leon and Rosa Puchala, paternal grandfather James Stewart, his mother Julieann Puchala-Stewart, sister Danielle Puchala, brother James Stewart, Uncle Gary Puchala, Uncle Robert Puchala, Aunt Renata Diederich and his beloved dog Luggy. He is survived by his paternal grandmother Mary Stewart, father James Stewart, sisters Justine Templin (Adam) and Emily Stewart, Aunts Rose Conklin (Richard) and Helen Archer, Cousins: Cyndi Smith (Bill) Dylan Puchala (Laura), Richard Conklin (Danielle), Sarah Stalker (Matthew),Crystal Trapasso, and Ashley Puchala. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Boonton Historical Society in his honor. Services will be private. A special thank you to the staff at the Medical ICU Unit at Morristown Memorial Hospital (especially his nurse, Dave) for taking such good care of Chris while he was there.
