Obituary of Ramon Santiago Marengo

Ramon Santiago Marengo passed away Wednesday evening, May 4, 2022 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ. He was 73.

 

Born and raised in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, he had been a resident of Parsippany-Troy Hills since 1984.

He served honorably in the United States Army during peacetime.

 

Mr. Santiago Marengo earned his Associates Degree from the Technological Institute of Puerto Rico at Ponce.

 

He was the founder and proprietor of Marengo's Top Quality Janitorial Service for over 30 years preceding his retirement 12 years ago.

 

An avid painter, Mr, Santiago Marengo was a patron of the Blackwell Arts Center of Dover and was a member of the Metal Detector Club in Morris County.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Sarah Suarez Velez; two adored children, Jonan F. Santiago Suarez of Parsippany, NJ, and Michele M. Santiago of Clifton, NJ; and three siblings, Gloria, Enobel, and Roberto Santiago Marengo. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ramon Santiago Lugo and Josefa Marengo; and five siblings, Antonio, Juan, Gladys, Carmelo, and Tomas Santiago Marengo.

 

Visitation will be Saturday, May 7, 3-7pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, Lake Hiawatha. Following the services in New Jersey, Ramon will be laid to rest in the Atlantic Garden Veterans Cemetery in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for memorial gifts in honor of Ramon to either the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
