Sister Grace Reape, SC 85, formerly Sister Anne John, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Thursday, May 19, 2022. She resided at McAuley Hall Health Center, Watchung, NJ. Sister Grace was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the daughter of John and Anne (Rogers) Reape. She entered the Sisters of Charity on September 6, 1954 and was a member for 67 years. Sister Grace graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey with a B.A. degree in Spanish; from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana with an M.A. degree in Spanish and from the Maryknoll School of Theology, Maryknoll, New York with an M.A. degree in Theological Studies. Sister Grace was an Educator in New Jersey. She served as a teacher at Our Lady of the Visitation School, Paramus and as teacher and Principal at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. She was Principal at St. Joseph High School, Paterson. She was the Director of Education Opportunity Fund, College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station and served as Provincial of the Northern Province of the Sisters of Charity. She was a Pastoral Associate at Resurrection Parish/St. Peter Church, Jersey City, and Chaplain at Compassionate Care Hospice, in Clifton and Parsippany. Sister Grace is predeceased by her sister Patricia and brother John. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity, her sister in law Annice, nephew John Reape and niece Coleen Reape Fay, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. Sister Grace had a love for the poor that reflected that of St. Vincent de Paul. She is described as a Sister of Charity with a compassionate heart who welcomed and respected each person as an individual. Her love for her ministry with Compassionate Care Hospice was shared with many people. The wake for Sister Grace Reape will be held in Holy Family Chapel, Convent Station, NJ from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Masks are required in-person. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Convent Station immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sister Grace's memory to the sisters of Charity Development Fund, P.O.
