SISTER MARY CELINE LASKEY, SC Sister Mary Celine Laskey, SC, 92, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died July 25, 2022 at Saint Joseph's Healthcare & Rehab Center in Cedar Grove, NJ. The visitation for Sister Mary Celine will be held in Holy Family Chapel, 2 Convent Road, Convent Station, NJ from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment of Sister Celine's cremains will follow immediately in Holy Family Cemetery, Convent Station. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. Sister Mary Celine was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Hilary and Anna (Rowley) Laskey. She entered the Sisters of Charity on September 8, 1947 and was a member for 74 years. Sister Mary Celine graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey with a B.S. degree in Education, and from Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania with a M.A. degree in Guidance. Sister Mary Celine served in the health ministry and in the education ministry in New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She served as a teacher and Administrator at Saint Mary Orphanage, Newark, NJ; Saint Augustine School, Union City and Saint Patrick School, Newark. She served as councilor at Walsh House, Elizabeth, NJ; Saint Agatha House, Nanuet, NY; Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY; and Letchworth Dev. Center, Thiells, NY. Many of these were programs for persons with special needs. She was Administrator at Catherine Mary McHale Center, Newton, MA for retired sisters. She held a certificate in Music Therapy and used that in service at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ; Ryer Avenue/Tremont Community School, Bronx, NY; Cooperative for Human Services, Medford, MA and Shore Collaborative, Chelsea MA. A person full of life and love, Sister Celine enjoyed ministry with persons of all kinds especially with those disabled or orphaned. She enjoyed making a caring home for those entrusted to her. She loved music as well as reading and writing poetry and participating in liturgy with a small Christian Community holding relationships developed there dear to her heart. Sister Celine generously chose to give her life as a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth with a special attention to the poor and to those who would conceal their necessities. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her faithful nephew Neal Murray and dear friends and ministry colleagues. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Sisters of Charity Development Fund, P.O.
