Obituary of Lillian Lemon

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Lillian Lemon, passed away early in the morning

on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

Lillian was born in Walker Springs, Alabama on November 22, 1925. She lived there

until 1944 when she married her husband, David Lemon and moved to Brooklyn, NY. In

1961, Lillian moved to South Ozone Park, Queens, where she would raise her two

children, Michael and Joann.

Throughout her life, Lillian worked tirelessly to support her family. She held jobs as a

jewelry maker, a meat wrapper, and as the proprietor of a Thumann's Hot Dog truck in

Queens until she retired and settled in Cedar Grove, NJ.

Lillian enjoyed life and the outdoors. She spent her free time fishing, traveling, cooking,

puzzling, and spending time with loved ones. She always cared for her elderly friends

and family. She would drive them to appointments, take them shopping, cook for them,

and care for them when they became ill.

Lillian is survived by her son, Michael Lemon; her daughter and son-in-law, Joann and

Rocco Minardi; her grandchildren, Michael and Lauren Minardi; and her nieces and

nephew, Janet Porfido, Olivia Pataky, and Sarah and Anthony Guzzo: and her loving

caregivers who became as close as family, Isabel, Fey, Gloria, Gemma, Jena, Charise and

Flora.

Lillian is predeceased by her husband, David Lemon; her sister, Margaret Richardson;

and her niece, Vicky Guzzo.

Visitation will be held at Stephen J. Priola Funeral Home in Parsippany, NJ on

Wednesday, September 14, at 5PM to 8PM. The service will be held on Thursday,

September 15 at 10AM at the same location. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Lillian loved animals and nature. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in her name

to the animal or wildlife charity of your choosing.
