Sister Margaret Annina Confoy, 93, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died September 15, 2022 at Saint Catherine of Siena Healthcare Center, Caldwell, NJ. Sister Margaret Annina was born in Trenton, New Jersey, the daughter of William and Margaret (Furlong) Confoy. She entered the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth on September 8, 1946 and was a member for 76 years. Sister Margaret Annina graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. Sister Margaret Annina was an Educator in New Jersey, Florida and in the Virgin Islands. In New Jersey, she served as a teacher in St. Cecilia, Englewood, St. Patrick's in Elizabeth, St. Joseph in Newark and St. Thomas in Bloomfield. Sister Margaret also taught at St. Mark, Boynton Beach, Florida, St Francis School, Riviera Beach, Florida and Sts. Peter and Paul School in the Virgin Islands. In 2010 she returned to the Convent of Saint Elizabeth at Convent Station until she moved to St. Anne Villa and finally to Saint Catherine of Siena Healthcare Center in Caldwell, New Jersey. Sister Margaret loved being a Sister of Charity of and was delighted to celebrate her 75th anniversary as a Sister of Charity with the sisters with whom she entered. She had a gift for connecting people because of both her personality and interest in them. When visiting her you would immediately catch her spirit of welcome and joy. Sister Margaret had a desire to keep in touch with people, whether living in the Villa or at Saint Catherine Healthcare Center. Her sister friends looked forward to her daily phone calls. as well as did her nieces. Sister Margaret loved her community and loved her family. She possessed a genuine zest for life! She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her sisters-in- law Kathy and Heather, her loving and faithful nieces, along with many grand, great grand and great, great grand nieces and nephews. The wake for Sister Margaret Annina Confoy will be held in Holy Family Chapel, 2 Convent Road, Convent Station, NJ from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Convent Station immediately following the Mass.
