Obituary of William C. Brown
William C. Brown passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at his Boonton, NJ home. He was 88 years old.
Born in Chicago, IL, Bill was raised in Lodi, NJ and moved to Boonton in 1963, where he raised his family. While living in Boonton, Bill was active in working with young people in the Boonton High School sports programs and was a member of several community associations.
Bill was the founder and proprietor of Interstate Maintenance Company of Boonton for the last 54 years. Even at the age of 88, he was still active in the daily management of the business.
Bill accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Throughout his life, he has supported numerous Christian ministries and was a founding member of the Calvary Bible Chapel of Flanders, where he faithfully served as a Deacon. Bill has served on the Board of Directors of Bob Jones University and the Gospel Fellowship Association, both of Greenville, South Carolina,, as well as the Dublin Christian Academy of Dublin, New Hampshire. Bill was also a longtime member and supporter of the Parsippany Rotary Club, and had served many years as Sargeant at Arms.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Nancy M. (nee Moran) Brown; and his dear siblings, Marylou Herdecker, Robert Brown, and Kathleen Keehn. Survivors include his six loving children, Patricia Brown of Boonton, NJ, Valerie Berian (Steven) of Springfield, MA, Kathleen Rudiger of Boonton, NJ, William Diffin (Roseanne) of Pompton Plains, NJ, Robert A. Diffin (Catherine) of Newton, NJ, and Matthew Diffin of Albany, NY; ten cherished grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday, October 31, from 4:00 -8:00 pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road., Lake Hiawatha. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 1, at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Montville Reformed Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would be most grateful for memorial gifts to the Morris County Calvary Bible Chapel, 76 Main Street, Flanders, NJ 07836.
