Obituary of George T. Nisbet, Sr.

George Thomas Nisbet Sr. passed away Thursday evening, November 24, 2022 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 82.

Born in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Hoboken, NJ, with his wife he raised two children in Jersey City, NJ before coming to Parsippany-Troy Hills 15 years ago.

Mr. Nisbet is a veteran of the United States Army.

He proudly served his community as a police officer with the Jersey City Police Department (West District) for over 25 years preceding his retirement.

He was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A member of the Elks Club of North Arlington, he was also an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Connie (nee Bracco) in 2020, George is survived by his loving children, George T. Nisbet Jr and his wife, Linda of East Hanover, NJ, and Cheryl Laboy and her husband, Gabriel of Parsippany, NJ; four dear siblings, Ronnie Nisbet of Jersey City, NJ, William Nisbet of Hoboken, NJ, Linda Gill of Pennsylvania, and Patricia Clemens of Little Ferry, NJ; and four cherished grandchildren, Amanda and George T. Nisbet III and Gabriel Jr. and Justin Laboy.
