Robert Armen Bear, of Montville, passed away on November 15, 2022 at the age of 75. Bob was born and raised in Connecticut and New Jersey. He grew up with strong ties to the Armenian community through his family and his involvement in associations. In his youth, he served for the National Guard. Using his passion for mathematics, he worked as an actuary and served in the Actuarial Society. He worked for PXRE among other reinsurance companies. He served for many years at the Armenian Church in Paramus as a deacon and elder, as a deacon and on the Board of Trustees at the Community Church of Mountain Lakes and is very involved as a member of the church and Unity Spiritual Center of Morris County. He was an avid dog lover and served on the Montville Dog Park Committee for many years and was appointed President. He loved golf, swimming, and theatre. Bob was a longtime supporter of the Barn Theatre in Montville who made special accommodation for him to be able to attend in his later years. Survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Carolyn Jean Bear. Devoted father to Cheryl Bear and Crystal Goretti (Jordan). Dear brother of Iris Desilets. Cherished grandfather of Karineh and Dafne Goretti. Robert will be truly missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing him. Family and friends are welcomed at the S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Home, 60 North Beverwyck Road in Lake Hiawatha on Friday, November 18th from 4-8PM. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, November 19th at 11AM at The Community Church of Mountain Lakes, 44 Briarcliff Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Robert's memory to The Community Church of Mountain Lakes.
