Obituary of William A. Napierski

William A. Napierski, 90, passed away Sunday morning, January 22, 2023 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville. Born in Jersey City on August 12, 1932, NJ, Bill was raised in Secaucus and moved to Montville Township in 1960. He had served in the New Jersey State Police for 31 years, retiring as a Captain in 1985. He closed out his career with the State Police as head of the NJ Racing Commission equine testing labs. He subsequently worked as vice-president with the County Concrete Co. of Kenvil for nine years, retiring in 1994. Mr. Napierski was a longtime member of St. Pius X R.C. Parish where he was a Eucharistic Minister and a charter member and former Financial Secretary of the Knights of Columbus. He was a former member and Secretary of the Lions Club of Montville, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Secaucus. Additionally, he had served as a chairman of the Montville Safety and Security Commission for 4 years. Bill began working on pig farms as a teen in Secaucus and developed an affinity for pigs. He collected pig figurines over the years and currently had over 1,000 in his collection. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Eleanor (nee Narcum); two beloved daughters, Christine Pipczynski and her husband Ronald of Montclair, and Irene Murdock and her husband Paul of Summit; five grandchildren, Matthew Murdock, Joseph Pipczynski, Claire Murdock, Courtney Pipczynski and Mia Murdock; and a sister-in-law, Claire Napierski. He was preceded in death by his three siblings, Florence Rainone, and her husband, Mike, Stanley Napierski, and John Napierski. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, Jan. 27, 4-7pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 28, 10:00am at St. Pius X R.C. Church, Montville. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for memorial donations to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Pius X Church Building Fund.
